awaiting another voice

TO everyone starting with work/school again on this hardest of Mondays, I am borrowing the accurate words of an acquaintance.

"I have yet to find another quote that "fits" the flip of the calendar year quite as well as T.S. Eliot's:

"For last year's words belong to last year's language. And next year's words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning."

Even as part of me wants to say "Bah-Bye 2021, and good riddance... Don't let the door hit you on the way out!!!", another part of me knows that I have much to be grateful for, and that the challenges of 2021 have made me stronger, more resilient, and inspired & empowered to make positive changes. A very wise "healer" - who has helped me weather the darkest of days and focus on recovery and discovering the changes needed in my life - said, in our first conversation, that "Illness is an invitation to life." I'm quite certain that 2022 will be so much better for me than it might be had I not been through all that 2021 threw my way, as difficult as it seemed at the time.

I wish everyone a year of Peace, Hope, Resilience, Love, Joy, Compassion, Kindness, Friendship, Health, and of course wonderful Music - with gratitude."
