no one is good enough to be promoted

After yet another frustrating audition, the fourth this year where no one advanced,
I am having a hard time believing that it isn't just all a scam.
My unrealistic self always believes that there is a possibility that I will win a job.
But more and more, I question whether or not I want these people as my colleagues.
At what point in their careers do people loose a sense of integrity, of honor, of probity?
