Holi – a traditional Indian feast, symbolizing the arrival of spring. It is celebrated traditionally, by throwing colored powder paints. In the northern state of Uttar Pradesh before the actual festival of Holi, they celebrate Holi Lathmar, and since this is also the Spring Festival. According to legend, Krishna came to Barsana town to cause jealousy in his beloved Radha. In response, women are driven out of his village. Today, women in this day Barsany “banish” men with sticks because they singing provocative songs and throw them in the powder coatings.
