Henri Cartier Bresson is still one of my favorite photographers,
and I always feel a twinge of familiarity when I see his photographs
thanks to that wonderful, refreshing exhibit in Florence,
thanks to the best aunt in the world!

“For the world is movement,

and you cannot be stationary

in your attitude toward something that is moving.”

— Henri Cartier-Bresson, a French photographer considered to be the father of modern photojournalism. He was an early adopter of 35 mm format, and the master of candid photography. He helped develop the “street photography” or “real life reportage” style that has influenced generations of photographers who followed.
