shoe love

Some of the cutest toddler shoes ever.
Why don't they make the polka dotted ones in an adult size?

Finnish designers Aamu Song and Johan Olin visit factories and craftsmen in Germany, South Korea and Finland, see what they’re capable of producing, and then design products that correlate with the skill set of the manufacturers. Rather than letting these traditional factories die out, they propose to take charge of the skills already out there to create new products.

Under the name Company, Song and Olin have acheived wondrous results by taking this approach. My personal favorite (pictured above) “Dance Shoes, For the Father and the Daughter,” were designed for a Finnish felt factory.
