The Huberman Lab podcast episode (a neuroscientist at Stanford) on social bonds and social behavior discussed the neurological difference between introverts and extroverts. He said that introverts actually get MORE dopamine from social interactions than extroverts do so we need less to be satiated. He said it's very similar to the hunger drive: when you are hungry, you seek food, but once you're full, you stop seeking food. So introverts basically get full sooner, but people keep trying to make us eat more and more after we're already full, which is why we get exhausted by endless social interaction.
