Apparently, I needed a longer break than I thought, coming home from traveling to converging disasters on wheels: making it through a breakthrough Covid infection and isolation in 800sq ft, a jet lagged sick baby followed by a distinct sleep regression (hello 5am wake-ups and 45min naps and ensuing crankiness), successful and still all-consuming potty training of said baby, work problems that need solutions and never end, a frustrating and uncompromising skin disease on my hands that provides constant discomfort, and general discontent in the let-down after being away and seeing family after the pandemic's long isolation.
And yet, “I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers," as dear Anne of Green Gables says. L. M. Montgomery hits the nail on the head.
So nice to see you again. I would apologize for being away for so long. On the other hand, I am working on learning to abstain from apologizing for my needs.
Instead, thank you for your understanding.
