truth

I was thinking about one of my favorite poems as I was out running earlier than usual, loving this early summer sunshine. Dearest Emily Dickinson is such a comfort, the northeast American Transcendentalist connection to Rilke. Sometimes I wonder what their conversations would be like if they could have dinner together.
Here's to finding your kindred spirit across time among words--
Happy Sunday!

Tell all the truth (1263)

Tell all the truth but tell it slant —

Success in Circuit lies

Too bright for our infirm Delight

The Truth's superb surprise

As Lightning to the Children eased

With explanation kind

The Truth must dazzle gradually

Or every man be blind —

Emily Dickinson
