everyone is awesome

Yes, way to go, LEGO

And Happy Pride Month to us all--love is love is love.

And from an acquaintance:
Listening to someone who disagrees with you does NOT obligate you to agree.
Wouldn't it be wild if all conversations across divides started from a place of wanting to understand each other? What if, instead of seeking for a moment to land our next argument, we instead asked questions - like "how did you come to think this?" or "can you say more about that?" or "help me understand this point."
What if, instead of assuming we already know what another person believes, based on what some politician or news pundit or meme told us they believed, we sought to actually understand their beliefs - to the point that we could repeat them back without mocking or sarcasm? How much could we learn about each other? How much could we accomplish together if understanding was truly the starting point? How much time would we save by not engaging with social media posts that clearly came from a person completely uninterested in listening? (and how much would Mark Zuckerberg's profits sink? heh)
Again, these conversations could happen, and we could still walk away NOT agreeing. Agreeing does not have to be the goal. But greater understanding and respect should be. It's only from that place that learning is possible, and maybe, just maybe, finding common ground.
