a harvest of hope

Wow, this interview with Senator Cory Booker made me listen twice.

"This season is not a referendum on [Trump], it is a referendum on us, if we will be a nation of love.[...] If we, this great experiment, the most heterogeneous democracy-- if we can show that we can make our ideals be more than just our slogans and our songs but to live deep into the fiber and fabric of this country so that all of us experience the same opportunity, the same justice, the same brotherhood and sisterhood, then we can succeed as a nation. But right now we are struggling. But I am hoping that out of this struggle and hurt in this country grows a new harvest of hope in this country."

Colbert's answer later: "Qui tacet consentire."
