Kristallnacht

The passing of the 80th anniversary of Kristallnacht did not go unnoticed a month ago on Nov. 10.

I cannot imagine what it was like to be woken up by that kind of noise and chaos, to get up the next morning, to clean up, and to try to go on with daily life as a Jewish person in 1938 or even 1933.

This makes me humble and quiet even in this crazy, raucous time of year.
