a literal nest egg

While I would not pay this hefty price tag, this revealed the whimsical and thought-proving nature of design that I love so much.
The embodiment of a difficult concept that can only be learned through experience made me smile. (I also am not a fan that this is 3D printed--where is the value of hand crafted skill going?)

Since he was a kid, designer Lance McGregor loved the idea of 'breaking the piggy bank’ to see what rewards lie within. Nest truly embodies the paradox of "no reward without sacrifice"; once filled, its porcelain exterior must be smashed to reap the benefits inside.

Nest’s metal base doubles as a makeshift hammer to reveal an unexpected whimsy within: a miniature homage to the traditional piggy bank.

Why we love this product: The simplicity and balance between ball and ring; one needs the other practically and aesthetically to complete the story.
