only one daily passenger

How is it that this would never happen in the US? Instead, the discussions swirling in education are centered on school choice, textbook wars, and teacher accountability.

Japan's Kami-Shirataki train station was supposed to close three years ago, but stayed open for a remarkable reason. Since the terminal's located in the north island of Hokkaido, its remote located prompted the Japan Railway to shut it down. However, they soon found out that one person was still using the station: a young girl who needs public transportation to commute to and from her high school. Since this realization, the train has stopped at Kami-Shirataki just for her and will continue to do so until she graduates on March 26th. Train operators even adjusted their timetable to accommodate the girl's school schedule, so she can receive a quality education.
