the danger of a single story

I made a new friend at school this week (a fellow teacher and cage-rattler), and we exchanged numbers after commiserating over the fall-out of Tuesday. We connected over our discussions of student learning, and I was compelled to tell her about one of my favorite TED talks of all time.

I had to re-watch it for myself to help me remember that context provides so much depth in my perspective, and to breath a tad more than usual to get through today.
