sheets of glass

Reminds me of Leaves of Grass... the closest thing to a wave captured in static form I have seen.

Thin sheets of glass are arranged in gorgeous spiraling forms in the wondrous glass sculptures of Japanese artist Niyoko Ikuta. Ikuta crafts the layered forms by laminating sheets of glass together. Her works are in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo, among many other institutions.
