anti-christmas

I have been really struggling with Christmas this year. I have never bought into the commercialism or the hubbub surrounding the holidays, trying to convince us to believe in the magic of the season by pushing it down our throats with advertisements and products.

Maybe the warm, rainy weather feels off; maybe it is feeling so unsettled about my future; maybe it is  a different time now in my life...

For whatever reason, I would want Advent to remain longer.

Despite my misgivings, however, I do derive a significant amount of pleasure from these sweet little trees.

I hope your week leading up to the holiday includes slowing down and taking deep breaths.

Goodness knows, I am working on it.
