every day a gift

Today I enter a new decade...
I have been dreading this for quite some time just because of its connection to my career.
I keep coming back to the realization that the days are long but the years are short. 
Whatever the implications of my age are, each day can be a gift.

I know I have posted this before, but it is worth the repetition.

"This little girl’s opening monologue should be engraved on a monument somewhere.

And it only gets better from there. All the smiles.

If you do nothing else but to cultivate that response to the great gift that this unique day is, if you learn to respond as if it were the first day of your life, and the very last day, then you will have spent this day very well."
