stealing thunder

I forget sometimes how unhealthy it is for me to be critical of people I barely even know,
thanks to the continuous updates of gossip and facebook.
I get so hurt by not being asked to play this or that,
and forget how arbitrary and lucky those instances can be.

I prefer to think of myself as a collaborator, as a middle child and middle voice,
I love the Robert Moses quote, that critics build nothing.

And the Sibelius quote is just as wonderful, that a statue has never been erected in honor of a critic,

especially not my own internal critic.

No one stole the thunder you never had.
