ode to honey

I do not always like such chintzy sayings,
but I did fall for this one,
especially since I associate my viola with my love of honey.
My favorite thing to buy on my travels (after postcards of course)
is local honey from the countryside.
Nothing better than that sweet, sweet taste of liquid gold.

And imagining what I do as a local souvenir of the soul
makes me giddy inside.

p.s. I also really, really like that the word, "human" below is a repurposed sign for "Hunan"
