Talking to strangers

STRANGER, if you, passing, meet me, and desire to speak to me,
why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?
– Walt Whitman

Although I am not nearly as talkative or people-oriented
as this Jason appears to be,
nor would I want to do something like this,
his experiment is still a nice idea.

he writes:
"Growing up, I regularly turned away when my dad did what he does best because I was anxious about what he may say, certain that he would embarrass me. Why did he care to talk with people he’d never see again? I never thought to ask him until recently:
Just to talk to other people, to see how they feel about other things.
I’ve never really put much thought into it."
